Get a Little Closer To Nature

There's probably not a better time of the year for a nature hike in Texas than in the early winter.  The weather is cool, but not too cold, so it's a perfect time to get outside.  LCRA's McKinney Roughs Nature Park provides a great opportunity to do just that.

On the first Saturday of every month, the public is invited to "Take a Walk on the Wild Side!" at McKinney Roughs.  The easy hike on the park's trails is a family favorite.  The guided hike is lead by the park naturalist who tells each group about the natural and human history of the area in a fun and interactive way.

These free nature hikes are from 10am to 12 noon, and are limited to 20 people.  To reserve your spot, call (512) 303-5073 or E-mail  For more information on the monthly nature hikes and other LCRA nature park programs, check out their online program calendar.  You - and your family - will be glad you did.
