It's the Holiday Season

Christmas in Smithville, TX. Photo courtesy of TxBobS.
Wow!  Where has 2011 gone?  December is upon us already, and that means it's time for holiday events on the Colorado River Trail.

Take your pick - we have lights, carriage rides, holiday parades, home tours, caroling, and of course, Santa.  Bring the whole family, or escape with that special someone on a holiday weekend for two.  Either way, you're sure to enjoy the holidays on the Colorado River Trail.

Here are some of the upcoming holiday events:

  1. The Johnson City Courthouse is spectacular! Make the time to do it, Llano, Marble Falls, Lampassas and San Saba, it can be done in one evening -we've done it. Make it a family event, complete with Christmas music, homemade goodies packed with thermos' of cocoa and hot coffee! Then do Bastrop, Smithville from Austin it is an easy and wonderful trip. Bastrop and Smithville have some wonderful old homes that are decorated to true southern style. You also get whimsy with themed decorations through out the neighborhoods of both cities. Not to leave anyone out you can't beat hospitality in Schulenburg and Weimar. German traditions, friendly faces and warm greetings can't be beat! You get the best of a coastal Christmas with touring some beautiful homes in Bay City!
